Thanks - for what?

Okay, yes, I'm thankful for the typical things. My family, my health, my job, my friends, etc.

As far as the horses go, I'm still thankful for my passion for them. My memories are filled with some of my greatest moments of joy from having horses in my life.

Unfortunately, that love comes with a dark, painful side, of which I have been "blessed" with far too much lately, in my own opinion.

So, be thankful if you have not had to walk the path I have over the past two years.

If you have been there, then I am thankful I'm not alone, and that I can be there for you with total understanding.

And thank you, if you've stayed with "A Good Horse" through all of this.

I'm thankful you have kept blogging, and letting us know you are OK. ;)

I'm so sorry for what you've been through, but I'm glad to see that you can still hold on to the happier times you've had with horses. I hope that you and your family have a very happy Thanksgiving. (And what Mrs Mom said -- always nice when you check in with us!)

My post today is exactly about this. Of course we are here. And we remember.

Although the specifics are different, I feel much the same way about Thanksgiving this year. I'm happy for all the big pictures stuff like my family and my friends and my house, but the rest of it? Not so much. The past fifteen months have been one long series of complications and minor tragedies. I guess I'm thankful I've survived it all (so far). Maybe next year will be better for both of us!

I'm sure it must be hard for you, especially this year. I've been there myself, so I well understand.

But latch on to faith that the future is still full of promise. I have a feeling you are going to find new hope sooner than you expect.

And share the love you have with those around you on this Thanksgiving. I will be saying an extra prayer for you.

You have had a hard time - but we're glad you're still blogging and remember the good times along with the bad.

I am also thankful that you have kept us in the loop through your blog. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all better. It's hard to explain, but I share your pain, in the way I hurt when my kids are hurt. I hope this year brings you great peace, happiness and joy.

I am Thankful that you still love horses. When Monty died I was, and still am, just so sad for you. I thought you would give up horses for the heart break. The fact that you didn't and that you tried to love another horse (regardless of how it turned out) gave me hope that when Gen's time comes I can be strong like you. Before you I always thought that I would give it all up because I couldn't be near horses without my horsey soul mate.
It is completely not fair that things turned out like they did. I feel horrible that I told you about Rugby. I know you don't blame me, but trust me, I blame me! I am thankful that you keep blogging because it gives me hope that your next great horse is still out there and that you have not given up hope either.

YOU are one of the bravest!
I am so sorry that you've had to loose two wonderful horses. When my time comes to loose the only one I have ever had to love to the end...I will have to lean on your heart and others here, for consolations.

I pray you can dare to love again soon.
