I don't like the cold, no sirree. My horse gets too frisky, you see. He wants to get bucky which makes my ride sucky, so I guess it's more groundwork for me.
“Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of Solitaire. It is a grand passion. It seizes a person whole and, once it has done so, he will have to accept that his life will be radically changed.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
"A good horse is worth more than riches." - Spanish Proverb
"Feel the Fear - Do it Anyway" - Susan Jeffers
RIDE FOR HER!
Somewhere behind the rider you've become, The trainers who pushed you, The people who believed in you, The long hours of schooling, The falls you've taken, The ribbons you didn't win, The tears and broken bones, And the horses you've given your heart to, Is the little girl who fell in love with the sport And never looked back. Ride for her!

Needed that giggle today-- thanks!!
More groundwork, less oats! This made me smile. It is a long way down, for sure.
Loved it. Hope you can email me with a view to negotiating some articles for Western Cape Horse Talk

Cute. The poem says it all. *LOL*
Lol! Very clever!
Tee hee hee. That's great and so true.
This is great!
I have heard that horses kept in warm stalls are often more 'fresh' when they get outside than their pastured counterparts who are used to the cold.
Hmm - sounds as if some deep drifts are just what's called for-lol! Love the poem!
