Super sad news, it seems the star eventing pony Theodore O'Connor had to be euthanized. I was so looking forward to seeing him compete in the summer Olympics. What a spunky little pony, he will be missed.
“Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of Solitaire. It is a grand passion. It seizes a person whole and, once it has done so, he will have to accept that his life will be radically changed.”

RIDE FOR HER!
Somewhere behind the rider you've become, The trainers who pushed you, The people who believed in you, The long hours of schooling, The falls you've taken, The ribbons you didn't win, The tears and broken bones, And the horses you've given your heart to, Is the little girl who fell in love with the sport And never looked back. Ride for her!

I was pretty shocked when I read that news. I thought it was someone's idea of a really, really, bad joke at first, and then realized it was true...
My sympathies go out to the entire O'Connor team there for their loss...
